A buddy of mine who works in the Detroit radio market called me screaming.... The Pistons play at home on Saturday and Monday night too, why are the SCF on the same night?

My response, I know what game I will be following!

It’s basketball!

Everyone knows all you need to see is the last three minutes or so.  Everything before that point is filler and Rasheed Wallace trash talk.

As I was telling a co-worker today, I often forget that the NBA even exists. Seriously, on the few occasions that I see highlights or anything regarding the NBA, it’s probably been at least 6 months since the last such experience. I’ve never watched more than 5-10 minutes of an NBA game on TV. I’ve never been to a live NBA game. I got so bored watching the Harlem Globetrotters that I left after the first half. NBA basketball is worse than soccer, rugby, lacrosse, curling, volleyball . . . and well, I just can’t think of any sport worse than NBA basketball.

For the Stanley Cup Finals however, I may be taking off work just to watch all the games.

The NBA knew what nights the NHL was going to play on, as they have used M,W,Sa in the SCF for a couple of years now.  They could have scheduled the Piston games for other nights since it was likely the Wings were going to advance.

Muero - The irony is, that college basketball is one of the most-exciting things you can watch.  Isn’t amazing how once they start getting paid, the product sucks?

Yeah, the Pistons are going to hurt, because it’s the SCF.  Not the WCF or something, but the SCF.

And I think I’m ok with that, and the Pistons will be too, because if the Pistons can somehow advance, the SCF should be over the the NBA Finals would then be center stage.
