from Spector’s Hockey,
After weeks of speculation leading up to the first round of the NHL entry draft there were almost no trades of note other than the Pronger to Philadelphia deal. So what happened? Could there be more trades during Day Two of the draft?…
Larry Brooks also reports the Senators asking price was “delusional”, noting the Rangers won’t part with Staal. Brooks also reported contrary to reports out of Toronto the Rangers and Maple Leafs didn’t discuss Wade Redden. The Maple Leafs are among eight teams on Redden’s “no-trade” list.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: There are 4 million reasons why the Senators won’t trade Heatley prior to July 1st and that’s the bonus he’s due on that date.
Pat Hickey reports Canadiens GM Bob Gainey is preaching patience to Habs fans as he continues his search for a big first line center.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: If Lecavalier isn’t dealt to Montreal, or elsewhere, by the end of this weekend, he won’t be dealt at all in my opinion.
