There is a lot to hate about the Ducks. It starts with defenseman Chris Pronger, who has gotten the best of the Red Wings in their last two playoff departures—last season with the Ducks and during 2006 with the Edmonton Oilers.
This is a turn of events. The Red Wings controlled Pronger when he played for the St. Louis Blues. At 6-foot-6, Pronger is Brian Urlacher on skates. Yet, the Red Wings always took care of him, especially Steve Yzerman’s legendary answer to when Pronger tried to rip off his head with a check—The Captain low-bridged him out of self-defense and tore up Pronger’s knee….

The Red Wings are miles ahead of the Ducks in the current NHL standings, but we learned long ago what that means come playoff time—nothing.

The Ducks and Wings have a history, though not that long. But it just didn’t start last year, what about the 2 years in which the Wings swept the Ducks in the Playoff’s and when Anaheim returned the favor a couple of years ago. So last year was not the first year the Ducks have knocked them out of the Playoff’s. Most Ducks fans think that when the Ducks vs. Wings it is going to be a “Playoff” type game. I would say that there is a pretty strong rivalry there. We hate the Wings and their Fans.
