Aaron Volpatti of the Vancouver Canucks took out two San Jose players last night (both did return).
First this hit on Jason Demers….
Then a one punch knock-out of Brad Winchester…

Those are 2 big dudes to take out. Holy Crap.
Thats great that Winchester goes to grab him and Volpatti just drills him. Great stuff.

Wow. He had himself a night. But why oh why do guys have to answer for good hits these days?

Valpatti proved one thing. He is dirty and his style of play has no place in the NHL. It wasnt his punch that took Winchester down but his knee to the groin. Watch the replay you will see it very clearly.
The hit on Demers would have been clean if it wasn’t late.
Valpatti looked the fool in the previous game when he attempted to check Murray and Murray didn’t move and Valpatti ended on his butt and skated off never to return.
These plays were to sooth his ego on a broadcast..
Kneeing someone in the groin is a move girls are taught for self defense. Well done Valpatti, that is how low you stooped.

I was impressed with this guy, the little I saw him last year. He certainly adds another dimension to the Canucks…if he can keep his head on straight.
