Where has the NHL gone? As I flip through channel after channel on a lazy Sunday I am unable to find one hockey game or highlight unless I go to the NHL channel which I had to purchase on an extra sports package. I have grown up a Detroit Red Wings fan and am still a fan of the game and the Wings, but where has the NHL gone?
Remember the good old days when, on a Sunday, you could see the glowing puck on Fox Sports, then turn to NBC to watch the Red Wings play the Avalanche in a blood bath? There seem to be no more rivalries, unsupported teams, and a lack of North American talent (minus Sidney Crosby). The NHL needs to address issues and attempt to regain popularity in the United States.

NBC doesn’t start showing games on the afternoon until after January right?
I’m so confused. People are mad because the NHL puts the outdoor game against College football and now we have this guy mad because the NHL is playing afternoon games against NFL regular season football.
With a little bit of research he could’ve figured it out.

Wow…..that guy is a MORON….The NHL and NBA are never on national TV until after the NFL season is over…He babbles about the Islanders attendance. Maybe he isn’t aware that they have stunk for 20 years now. Also, he should look up the attendance in Charlotte, Philly, Indiana, Minn, Memphis, Milwaukee, Sacramento and a couple others….He complains about Versus. Yeah maybe Versus has bullriding but is ESPN better because they have spelling bees and card games

They have been doing that since the lockout buddy, its not popular, time to get the teams out of the a few US cities.
