“Being afraid to lose is not that bad of a mind set. If you’re afraid, it means you’re going to do everything in your power not to lose.”
-Maxime Talbot of the Pittsburgh Penguins. More on the Penguins from Scott Burnside of ESPN.

Jeez, I’m taking a break from crunching numbers so my brain doesn’t melt, and you just finished the job, RW-er.

Talbot seems to think that Fear leads to Effort.
Well, to me:
Fear leads to desperation, which leads to frustration, which leads to penalties, which against the Wings leads to a loss.
Be affraid, Max. Be very affraid

From the Pens off-day presser transcript:
Q. Your slash got a lot of play on Sportscenter on Zetterberg, was that frustration for something he did? Do you have any regrets when you see that replayed over like that?
SIDNEY CROSBY: I haven’t seen it replayed, but no, I don’t have any regrets. He crosschecked me earlier on by the net. He crosschecked me earlier by the net. But it’s not about getting back at guys at this point. We’ve got to play hockey here and worry about winning a game. But, no, I don’t regret it.

Lebrun can be summed up like this:
“The Wings will win the Cup because they are deep. Their depth, however, will not help them because they are gassed. They are so gassed they made the Pens look foolish the other night. The Pens are so foolish now they should win Game Six, because the Wings are old. The Wings are so old that the contribution of players like Helm and Abdelkader is the difference in this a series, a series that both Pittsburgh and Detroit will win in five, six, and seven games.”

Burnside and LeBrun have been my two favorite media talking heads these playoffs. They have hit “Datsyuk was aided by the wind at his back” territory.
