Nobody is forcing (Jeremy) Jacobs to have a payroll bumping up against the cap ceiling. He could have instructed Bruins management to spend much less but instead allowed forking out big bucks for Joe Thornton, Zdeno Chara, Marc Savard, Patrice Bergeron and Dennis Wideman. He’ll likely pay out even more to retain Tim Thomas, David Krejci and Phil Kessel this summer.

Jacobs is an a$$. He was one of the biggest, loudest supporterds of the lock out and the new CBA. His g*damn Thornton deal is one of the case studies everyone uses when inflated salaries & giving away the farm for a player are concerned.
Get stuffed ya Ma$$hole.

“Perhaps the most ominous sign came in a recent Boston Globe interview with Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs, who sounded none too pleased with the state of the league under the current CBA.

Jacobs complained there were “a lot of things” he didn’t like about the agreement, claiming it was “expensive” and “hard to live with,” suggesting it gave a lot of money to the players and not enough was left over for the owners. “

Businessmen like that are only happy if they get all the profits and pay their employees squat - no matter what business they are in.  In their minds, employees are a necessary evil and to be minimized as much as possible.
