Al Montoya and Marcel Hossa to Phoenix

From TSN, Al Montoya and Marcel Hossa traded to the Phoenix Coyotes for Fredrik Sjostrom, David Leneveu and Josh Gratton.

They could have done soooo much better in a trade for Montoya.  He may not have been a hotshot prospect like he was the year he was drafted, but he’s gonna be an NHL’er, and the three guys the Rangers got won’t be in the league in three years.  I’m a Pens fan and I’m mad for the Rangers.  But hey, as long as they’re happy.

Montoya has no NHL experience and has had up-and-down seasons in the AHL.  I don’t think the Rangers could have gotten a whole lot for him.  I don’t know much about the guys they got in return, but Sjostrom’s 10 goals and 19 points tie him for 10th on the Rangers in scoring this season, so far.  Of course, that could just highlight how much trouble the Rangers have had scoring this year.
