from Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen,
Ottawa Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson wants to reach out to Dany Heatley and find out why the disgrunteled winger wants to be traded.
“I want to, because I want to know — it’s all speculation from you guys (media), from myself and from everybody. Dany hasn’t spoken publicly about it. Nobody really knows how everything came to be.
“Was it a process throughout the end of the season that he thought, ‘I would like to do something else,’ or one day I woke up and needed a change. I’m not sure. So, I would definitely like to talk to him. I’ll keep trying to reach him, no question.”
Alfredsson spoke to Ottawa reporters Tuesday on a conference call from Paris, where he is attending NHL Players Association meetings.
