All Eyes On Price Tonight

from Louis Jean of Sportsnet,
I can assure you Carey Price will be the most applauded player by the 21,273 fans at the Bell Centre tonight. Ironically, he could also get booed off the ice before the game is over should he not play up to par.
There is clearly a love-hate relationship that exists between Price and the team’s supporters. It goes much deeper than the Jaroslav Halak trade. In the eyes of the fans, Price has been a disappointment. He has failed to establish himself as a bona fide No. 1 netminder. When he made the team at 20 years of age, some called him the savior, the next Patrick Roy. The bar was a smidgen high for the kid, don’t you think?
There is no doubt in my mind the Montreal Canadiens have the most passionate and knowledgeable fans you will ever find. The downside is they’ve got a very short fuse. Sure Price hasn’t quite lived up to expectations, however, the maturation process is taking its course. Several prominent and well-respected hockey minds have told me they are convinced Price will become a dominant NHL goaltender.
