All The Ducks With The Same Theme

from Mark Whicker of the OC Register,
No, the Ducks really were paying attention. They proved it after Game 5. If not during.
Todd Marchant: “At times it looked like we didn’t want the puck.”
Teemu Selanne: “We had no business being in that game. We weren’t mentally prepared.”
James Wisniewski: “We can’t play like it’s Game 38 of the regular season.”
Instead, it might well have been Game Next-To-Last of the whole season, this 4-1 loss to the Red Wings that shoved the Ducks into a 2-3 hole in the NHL Western Conference semifinals, with Game 6 in Anaheim on Tuesday.

Wings are comin’ after you and they’re bringing Hell with them.
Jeebus, was that a reference to Tombstone (one of the greatest movies of all time) or was it just a coincidence? One of the Battle of California writers just did a big post about the Ducks as Tombstone characters.
“You tell them I’m coming . . . and Hell’s coming with me! You hear?! Hell’s coming with me! “
Classic.

as a wings fan I’ll use whatever reference I want to use. If it’s coinkydinky what do you care? You’re a Sharks fan and you have no more vested interest in the Wings/F*ckies series.

Guess what, Wisdoucheski. You did.

@ Jeebus -
Mike Chen wasn’t insulting you or giving you a hard time - he was just remarking on the coincidence of two opposing blogs using references from the same Western. (And it is pretty funny.)
@ Mike Chen -
It kind of is a play on Helm’s name - because he’s such a fast skater, it’s like hell on wheels, so you could do the line as “they’re bringing Helm with them” instead - it makes more sense in context, trust me.
Huh. Game 38 of the regular season actually was a loss for Anaheim - 2-0 to Columbus.

I enjoyed this:
Otherwise, Osgood was so idle that he regretted leaving his cell phone in the locker room. The Detroit defensemen were beginning to complain about his snoring. But somehow he has a way of waking up just in time to identify pucks and stop them.

Yeah. And also the point that Tombstone is an infinitely quotable movie and any quotes from it are awesome.
“I’m you’re Huckleberry.”
(Maybe Jim Balsillie will use that somehow.)
