I totally understand the guy who asked about CentreIce. There are some really good announcers out there who talk about the players on both teams with a slight slant towards their team but they also point out the mistakes of their own players as well. Those kind of guys are clearly very good at their jobs.
It’s the broadcasters that spout hero worship about “their team” and talk about “bad bounces” or “bad luck” when a player makes a obvious boo-boo. while totally railing against the other team. It doesn’t sound very professional.
The negative chants…? Well, sometimes I do it. When the Jets were here, a lot of people hated Detroit and had negative chants. I think it’s to try to get into the other teams head if possible. But it’s also most likely your answer is the best description
