Thanks Paul!  Great news.

(Of course......I’ll believe it when I see it tonight since there are still enough steps for someone to flip the wrong switch, so to say.)

BK, you and me both.  But again, Versus addressed the situation and made it right!

You got it Paul!!! I just read it on another site from a DirecTV source so it looks like we’re in.  They said it will be on channel 603 and those with mpeg2 receivers may have to channel up or down to find it.

Thanks BK and if you have anymore information on this, please feel free to leave a comment.
And that holds true for anyone else.

Yes, the other board’s post has been edited to say 604.  My always slow guide still has the golf on 604.

I emailed this this morning, not that it did anything, but glad to see it will be in HD, as I’m a diehard penguins fan.

This is still a garbage deal by the NHL. The whole point of going with Vs over ESPN was to get better treatment. Instead, the access of the casual viewer to NHL games is down to nearly zero considering no hotels carry Versus , Versus is not on the basic tier on many non COMCAST systems, and Versus doesnt even have a dedicated HD channel and has to share it with the Golf network.

It is amazing that it required a last minute change. Considering there are extra unused HD channel slots, this should not have ever been an issue not to show the game in HD. In Atlanta, the FSN HD channel is mostly a test pattern, and they have an HDPPV slot that is mostly unused, and then there are many HD channels that rarely broadcast any HD material. They could have very easily have preempted one of those channels to show Golf or Hockey in HD. Adding insult to injury is the news was that the originally scheduled prerecorded golf stuff in the timeslot wasnt even real HD.

Oh well, at least everything is fine for now.
