Ladd received five minutes for the elbow, 2 minutes for roughing and a game misconduct.
D’Agostini did not return to the game.

TOTAL Elbow. Crappy, cowardly, wouldn’t use his body. Good call Toronto.

Good shoulder hit but the skates leave the ice.

Figures a Flyers’ fan would find that hit to be clean. Mike Richards, Randy Jones, Steve Downie, all head-shot offenders who have seriously hurt their victims. The irony, of course, is that former Flyers captains Keith Primeau and Eric Lindros had their careers ended by concussions, but, well, I guess Philly fans are a bit more hardcore than most. After all, their football-cheering brethren booed freaking Santa Claus.
But that Ladd hit on D’Agostini was NOT clean. It was more his shoulder than his elbow, yes. However, he left his feet which is verboten. Moreover, before the Mike Milburys of this world start blaming D’Agostini for having his head down, he didn’t. Ladd showed absolutely zero respect for his fellow player. Ironic, given how upset the Black Hawks were when Willie Mitchell laid out Jonathan Toews the other week. At least Big Willie delivered a legal hit, but he shoulda also held up.
Until players learn to respect each other, this kind of BS is going to continue. It makes me sick to watch this s*it. Players like Ladd are cowards, as could be seen by him punching Kyle Chipchura only after Chipchura was tied up by a linesman in the ensuing scrum. Up until then, he held onto Chipchura, avoiding a fight. Cowards like him belong in the ECHL.

Of course Olczyk providing “unbiased” commentary on the play.
“his skates were on the ice...”
How about the location of Ladd’s elbow in proximity to the other guys head??????

I wholeheartedly agree. You can argue about elbow/shoulder or feet on/off the ice, but I don’t understand the disrespect and disregard for the opponent. The attitude of players like Richards, Ladd and others truly disgusts me. It has nothing to do with toughness, because they usually hide behind teammates afterards.

Not cool. I’m ok with the fighting after this one.
