from WDAE,
The Tampa Bay Lightning have scheduled an 11:30 a.m. press conference Tuesday, only saying it is involving Dave Andreychuk.
WDAE is reporting that Andreychuk is not retiring. The Lightning are basically deciding that Andreychuk no longer can help the team on the ice, and will announce to the effect of “going in a different direction” with him.

Why no mention of this anywhere else?

Ya know, everyone always complains that free-agency creates no loyalty to organizations by players, but caps create no loyalty from organizations. did they remove the C from his jersey recently or was he still wearing it (if he was even playing at all)? just no way to treat the captain of a defending champion.
