Andy Murray Calls Out Players, One Responds Back

from Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
“I didn’t think (Patrik) Berglund was good, I didn’t think (David) Perron was good, I didn’t think (Keith) Tkachuk was good ... I didn’t think (Brad) Boyes was good,” Murray said. “I thought (David) Backes was all right."…
“The last time I checked, we’re all in this together,” Tkachuk said. “We’ve got a young team. It’s easy to put the blame on each other. I don’t need the coach to tell me through the media, or any other player through the media ... if that’s what he’s searching for, it’s a very young and fragile team to be doing that right now in the middle of the season. But if that’s what he has to do, that’s his decision. He’s the coach.”

Yeah, usually I don’t really care what Tka-suck has to say...but full marks for standing up for his teammates on a young team. He’s right - if you have a young team that’s struggling to find their identity, it’s not helpful to dish insults and non-constructive criticism upon them through the media. If you’ve got something to say, say it to the team Murray. This is why they stopped listening to you in LA!

It’s sad to see how bad the Blues are. Their fans really deserve better. Why would any team want Tzchuk or Kariya..those guys are finished. Yuo can’t build a team around two “has beens” and a “never was” in goal

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

I guess the Post-Dispatch must have edited out this version: “Legace didn’t return for the third period. All sharp implements and anything that could be used for a noose were immediately removed from the locker room. Security also was called and Manny was put on suicide watch.”
KaChunk isn’t usually one of my favorite NHLers, but give him full credit for sticking up for his teammates. Murray should have said what he had to say to the players and kept the specifics out of his comments to the media.
