Another Flyer Suspension Likely

from Bob McKenzie of TSN,

Philadelphia Flyer forward Riley Cote is likely to be suspended for his match penalty at 17:46 of the third period in Dallas’s 4-1 win over the Flyers on Saturday.

Cote delivered a high head shot against Dallas defenceman Matt Niskanen. Any player assessed a match penalty is automatically suspended pending a review by the league. It will be a shock if Cote isn’t suspended by the league.

So let’s hear the obligatory “But, but… Flyers aren’t dirty!!” posts.

How many more do there need to be before we’ll all admit there’s something rotten in Philly? 2 more?  3?  Or is Downie, Boulerice, Hartnell, and now Cote finally enough to admit there’s a problem?

Wow...they’re at it again. Maybe we should just suspend the whole team lol.

No Youtube clip, but TSN shows the hit...REALLY stupid, REALLY REALLY stupid.  Cote very visibly leaves his feet to send an obvious elbow into the head of Niskanen, whose helmet falls off, and he earns a 10-minute match penalty for “intent to injure.”

Is Bobby Clarke secretly coaching these guys?
