Anything On Your Mind?

I have an appointment and will not have web access until 5:30pm ET or so today.

So with that, anything on your mind you wish to make public, of course, only hockey related.

Leave a comment below and I shall return in a few hours.

NHL Center Ice- $35 a month
NHL Game Center- $21 a month
TimeWarner Sports Package- $25 a month
Not being able to see the game I want twice in a week-  Priceless.

What a joke.  I have had Center Ice for a week now and was not able to get two differnt Red Wings games.  I have had gamecenter almost the entire season and have missed multiple games because of versus (didnt have) NHL network (dont have an option for) and not having Center Ice.  I tried to cancel my gamecenter package because I now have purchased Center Ice and they told me no.  I have to keep paying till June.  Fine.  Last night try to tune into the Wings on Center Ice, not there.  Open up gamecenter..Blacked out.  Its amazing.  I am very frustrated with this whole thing.  Gary has turned this league into a joke when it comes to how fans can access the game.  Isnt one of the major selling points of Centerice and Gamecenter is to watch games out of market?  Then they put it on NHL Network and you cant see it.

I rant about that but it makes no difference.  I dont even want to get into the Matt Cooke situation because it makes me sick.

That is all.  Thanks as always Paul.

I tend to agree, especially considering they are out of market games. It will truly be a beautiful day when you can watch any game outside your market on Gamecenter without blackouts. Hasn’t anyone in the NHL remembered what the Hawks were like when all of their games were blacked out? I recognize the game has changed and now they hawks are fun to watch, but the point is you can watch them, That was not the case 5 years ago.

Just thought I’d pass on this letter from the Calgary Herald, Paul.  Always nice to see the Flames brass and players getting together to make a young fan’s day…

Although born and raised in Detroit, my nine-year-old son, William, is an avid fan of the Calgary Flames, specifically Miikka Kiprusoff. For his birthday, we bought Will tickets to the final Red Wing-Flames game on March 9 at Joe Louis Arena and on a whim, I contacted the Flames organization to see if a brief meeting could be arranged while the team was in Detroit. I started with a mother’s appeal to Flames president Ken King. I was thrilled when, the day before the game, I was contacted by Peter Hanlon, vice-president of communications, who said he’d see what he could do.

What transpired was every child’s dream and Will not only met Miikka, but had his photo taken with him, and came home over the moon that his idol had signed the Kipper jersey he received for Christmas. King could have easily deleted my e-mail request, Hanlon could have determined he was too busy to arrange a meeting and Miikka could have decided he was not up for greeting fans, but each of them made one small gesture of kindness that amounted to a moment my son will never forget.

They demonstrated what it means to be true ambassadors of the game of hockey to even their youngest fan 2,900 kilo-metres from home, and I will always be grateful.

This is a minor item of limited interest, but the British Columbia Vital Statistics Agency released the province’s top baby names for 2009.  They don’t publish the names that are used less than five times, so there’s nothing equivalent to little Ericlindross from Alberta, but there were 10 little boys named Kesler and 58 Lindens (with 9 Lyndens and 8 Lyndons).

No little Luongos, though.
