from John Shipley of the Pioneer Press,
The sides still have until midnight today (Monday) to complete a deal that would keep Rolston, 35, from testing the free-agent waters, but that isn’t going to happen.
“At this point,” Rolston said in a text message Sunday afternoon, “we are going to July 1.”
added 8:22pm, via Russo’s Rants,
I see Rolston on Sidney Crosby’s wing in Pittsburgh. I know Florida, Atlanta, the Rangers, Islanders and Montreal really want him, too. Tampa will sign Ryan Malone to a seven-year, $31.5 million deal, but that doesn’t mean the Lightning’s out of the Rolston hunt, I was just told. The Lightning has interest in Radim Vrbata, too.
