Wear your favorite hockey sweater to work or school Friday—once again it’s Hockey Weekend Across America, presented by Reebok. Get out to a game on Saturday or just take the kids skating—it’s Bring a Friend to the Rink Day, sponsored by the NHL. On Sunday, it’s Celebrate Your Local Hockey Heroes, sponsored by Liberty Mutual’s Responsible Sports.
“We look to build on the success of last year’s inaugural Hockey Weekend Across America,” said Dave Ogrean, executive director of USA Hockey. “It’s important to engage the entire hockey community in this effort and, with the momentum built last year, we believe year two will only be better.”

Why do I need A “Hockey Weekend Across America?”
Between my hockey-crazed 13-year old and me, virtually every day/night at my house from late September to mid-June features hockey being watched and/or played. Occasionally, much to the chagrin of my lovely, extremely tolerant wife and our four other, non-hockey-crazed children. Actually, they’d probably like it if someone came up with a “No Hockey Weekend Across America!”
