Don Cherry on Coach’s Corner last night talked about the Begeron hit and a few other topics.
Worth the seven minutes it takes to watch it…

His point is that Bergeron put himself in a very dangerous position, which is true. Hockey’s a fast game, and guys can’t always pull up on hits like that. He’s not saying the hit was clean or anything, just that Bergeron left himself open to it.

I guess I don’t understand how getting drilled from behind when the checking player can pull up is the player with the pucks fault.
If a goalie is going to go outside of the blue as long as it’s incidental it shouldn’t be called. Goalies may have to put with more contact than in the past but they also initiate more contact than in the past.
