As expected…
from the Tampa Bay Lightning,
The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-signed right wing Evgeny Artyukhin to a multi-year deal, owners Oren Koules and Led Barrie have announced.
“We are extremely happy to have Arty back in the fold after playing in Russia the previous two seasons,“ vice president of hockey operations Brian Lawton said. “He brings a real unmistakable presence to the ice as soon as he comes over the boards and having his size and speed, along with his willingness to use them physically, will make us a tougher team to play against each night.”

Maybe they are going to make Stamkos a Dman. To be honest I think getting rid of Boyle was about the worst move so far this summer. And I’m talking about all the teams not just Tampa…..

Kevin you forgot the Leafs gave Jeff Finger a bazillion dollars.

Add in the bad press and hit to the team’s reputation from the Boyle trade, and I think that will wind up hurting the team more than giving out a Jeff Finger contract. Besides, if Toronto can only convince McCabe to leave, they will come out ahead salary-wise.

Artyukhin wasn’t a guy they were going to let go. He’s big, nasty, and he skates well. Think Chris Pronger on a wing, and that’s “Arty”. Good signing here. Now just where is Chris Gratton going to end up?

Kevin you forgot the Leafs gave Jeff Finger a bazillion dollars.
And the Ranger’s gave two bazillion to Wade Redden’s ghost.
