Holy sh$%#^....he made $600,000 last year! This guy looks doomed to play on horrible teams for his whole career.
Posted by kevin from boston on 07/02 at 03:44 PMUnbelievable. He’s making like half a million more than Brad Stuart? >$1MM more than Nik Kronwall?
I really fear the Wings’ ability to lock down Zetterberg and Franzen…
Posted by Larry Aurie #6 from New York, NY on 07/02 at 03:45 PMWhat is in the water in the GM’s offices these days???
What was the lockout for again?
If i’m an owner i’m about ready to beat the living crap out of Bettman.
Somewhere Bobby Goodenow is chuckling just a little bit.
Posted by Jim_Korn on 07/02 at 03:51 PMYou all must not be aware of how far under the salary cap floor Atlanta is, even at this point. They counted on signing Campbell just to get near the cap floor. That’s why Atlanta was offering $7.5m/yr to Campbell.
This is all a part of Waddell’s Plan B. It’s also quite the overpayment for him, but I think he will work pretty well under Anderson’s system.
And yes, all of this really should make people wonder why there was a lockout in the first place. Though I’m going to laugh if the salary cap goes down next sesaon. There will be a lot of teams struggling to sign marquee players and stay below the cap at the same time.

Posted by Blackcloud on 07/02 at 04:00 PMremembers me to the US economy and financial system: “don’t worry, be happy until it blasts”. this is terrible, especially for all the great fans who have to partly pay for this.
