Avery ‘Remembered’ At Rangers’ Home Opener

The Rangers played their first game at the renovated Madison Square Garden on Thursday night, but one thing that didn’t change was the spirit of the New York crowd.
Before the Rangers’ game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, someone hung a banner spanning the front of two upper-level sections that read “16 AVERY” in enormous letters, next to the message “SEND TORTS TO THE WHALE.”
