Avs Have Had No Contact With Brunette

from Adrian Dater at All Things Avs,

NHL free agency is a week away, and there still has been no contact between the Avs and Andrew Brunette. Translation: He ain’t comin’ back.

Just got off the phone with Brunette’s agent, Don Reynolds, and he said the Avs have yet to even call him about anything regarding the potential unrestricted Brunette.

continued and little more detail on the Sakic situation…

One-dimensional, slow, as sound defensively as a bag of pucks…luckily for you, Poile is smarter than that.

Are we talking about the same person? Because the word around here is he might be kicking the tires on him. And you are right, he is smart.

Yeah, I actually have to agree with Predneck on this one. The Preds’ problem last year was they were too thin up front with the injuries. Brunette would give them more depth at a reasonable price, and even as slow as he is, he has soft hands around the net. Put him on a line with a couple of good skaters so he doesn’t hurt you defensively, give him time on the PP, and he probably scores 15 or 20.
