from The Colorado Avalanche,
The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that it has signed forward Scott Parker to a one-year contract through the 2008-09 season.
Parker, 30, appeared in 25 games for the Avalanche last season and finished third on the team in penalty minutes with 70. He skated in his 300th NHL game on Jan. 24 against Minnesota.
“Scott Parker has been part of our team for many years,” said Avalanche Executive Vice President & General Manager Francois Giguere. “We’re pleased to announce that he has decided to remain with our organization.”

Definitely a killer signing.
I expect to see his number raised to the rafters after the ‘08-’09 season.

It’s always good news when a team commits to carry an enforcer. I guess this means his “ankle problems” are healed, so hopefully he can see more than 25-30 games this year.
