Avs Waiting For Word On Smyth Injury

The Avalanche again will be at the mercy of a doctor’s prognosis today, when the condition of one of Ryan Smyth’s ankles will be determined. Early indications, however, are not good.

Smyth needed help from two Avalanche teammates to get from his locker stall to another room following Monday night’s 4-3 shootout loss to Phoenix.

If Smyth is out for an extended period of time, the Avs may need to start looking for some scoring help.

The Avalanche received some good news regarding forward Ryan Smyth Tuesday as X-rays on his injured ankle came back negative. He has been diagnosed with a sprained ankle and is out indefinitely.

Sweet bejeebers that’s disheartening as an Avs fan.  Both Captain Canada’s out of the lineup is certainly something nobody expected.
