Babcock’s Reputation On The Line

from Jamie’s Hockey Blog at About.com,
We’ve seen that when the Red Wings are on their game, they will beat Pittsburgh.
Getting them on their game is where the coach comes in, and doing it under less than ideal circumstances should be what sets elite coaches above the pack.
The NHL season is down to a best-of-three. The Stanley Cup is on the line.
So is Mike Babcock’s reputation.

I guess his Stanley Cup means nothing. And his ability to kill off the supposed “Stanley Cup Hangover” this year and get within 2 wins of a second cup means nothing, too.

Exactly.
What kind of knowledgeable hockey mind feels the best regular season record of the last five years, plus a Stanley Cup, are about to be erased if a Cup is not won this time around?
Just the fact the Red Wings are in the SCF, with two wins under their belts, is proof enough of Babcock’s coaching abilities. Look what happened to the last six teams the year after their Cup win.

I am a Pens season ticket holder I believe that Babcock has nothing to prove. He is an excellent and articulate coach.
Go Pens!
