From Ansar Khan at MLive,
“I think Jimmy Howard is very close, if not there, to playing in the NHL,” Holland said. “I’m guessing Ozzie can play 50 games, maybe more. The 20-30 games that Chris doesn’t play in a parity league, those are key points. The hardest thing is, we’re trying to continue to be a Cup contender. How do you move young people into your team at a key position?”
Even if the Red Wings anticipate Howard being the backup, they are likely to pursue a low-priced, experienced goalie, in the wake of Dominik Hasek’s retirement.

Great article..love to see that Kenny is keeping busy and making the right moves. You know...Cujo is a UFA...if he wants a solid back-up goalie, he is not a bad option. I bet he would sign for cheap too, and he would be on a cup contender...get his chance to win one before he retires.
If I were Cujo I would seriously think about it. I would also tell Ken Holland that if I sign, I play 25-30 and Howard stays in Grand Rapids. I always felt bad about the way Cujo was treated while he was here. I always thought we should have said no to a second Hasek tour and stuck with Cujo, stuck with our guy.
