from Phil Sheridan of the Philadelphia Inquirer,
Crosby is a terrific player. He is also capable of some hit-and-run behavior of his own. He tripped up Flyers goaltender Martin Biron from behind in the third period, then hid behind teammate Georges Laraque, who took a dive into Biron’s legs a few minutes later.
When things really got out of hand, Crosby was on the bench.
There’s no way to defend all the fighting and foolishness to a non-hockey fan. The NHL has worked hard to steer the game away from the professional wrestling atmosphere and emphasize the skill and the speed that really make the sport fun to watch.
But a night like this has a certain, hard-to-justify appeal to those of us who grew up watching Bobby Clarke and Dave Schultz and Bob Kelly throw their bodies around and their gloves on the ice.

well there is a difference. Bobby Clarke has 2 rings and how many does Cindy have? ummm 0?
i think the writer was talking about that play the refs let him get away with and that is something clarke would of done in his playing days.
its amazing there is no outcry over the Georges Laraque thug play on Biron. Im quoting Keith Jones on hockey central “if that was a flyer, he’s looking at a multi-game suspension”
last night should you how soft penguins are and it also showed you that cindy is hit away from knock out.
btw, flyers are on the market looking for a fourth line fighter

Sidney has been in the league for 3 years! I believe it was at least his 5th season when Clarke won his first cup.
Crosby’s back skate barely touch Biron as he was skating by and Marty milked it for all it was worth and took a huge dive.

A little ironic that this comes out of Philly.

are you comparing Bob Clarke to Sidney Crosby?? that’s ridiculous, the only thing anyone remembers about Clarke is the two hander he laid on the russian’s ankles. I think Downie is a better embodiment of Clarke, they’re both dirty players with minimal offensive skill.
And Crosby wasn’t on the bench when it was 7-2 late in the 3rd because it was 7-2 late in the 3rd.
