I read the article & unlike the writer, I did not find anything offensive whatsoever regarding the “Fight Camp.” Having played & watched hockey over 30 years, I have seen much more “player decimation (wow, talk about exaggeration for effect!)” caused by errant hockey sticks & checks from behind, than any hockey fight.  I appreciate the picture the writer tries to paint of how above he violence he is, but ice hockey is ice hockey, ballet is ballet, & words have an exact meaning.

Fighting will always be a part of hockey as hockey is a rough contact sport. However, teaching boys (who are already aggressive by nature) to be even more aggressive and better at fighting is simply not right. Men should teach boys how to be responsible adults who try to solve problems without fighting. Teaching them to be wild hellions with out of control levels of testosterone who use violence and force to solve problems is the last thing hockey and/or the world needs.
