Bad Sports Cities In America

from Tom Van Riper of Forbes,

Lining up behind Miami for the booby prize are San Diego ($300 a game for a family of four; .425 combined winning percentage for the Chargers and Padres), Indianapolis (a lower-income market with middle-of-the-road ticket prices) and New York (second-highest prices in the country for teams that lose just over half their games, the Super Bowl champion Giants not withstanding).

The best deals? You’ll find those in Detroit (only No. 17 in costs for a .612 winning percentage for its four teams, including the Stanley Cup champion Red Wings), Houston (third-cheapest prices for a .565 winning percentage), and the Bay Area (so-so teams, but a high-income market with the ninth-lowest costs).

So wait, since it is impossible to get steelers tickets unless you inherit them from a dead relative, and Penguins tickets are selling for double face value on ebay that would make pittsburgh a bad city to be a fan? And since the bay area teams blow so its easy to get cheap tickets, that makes them a good place to be a fan?
Phhh. I would rather watch a good team from my house than a bad team from the stadium/arena.
And just imagine the Detroit winning % if not for the Wings hahaha.

First off Kevin, last year, Detroits worst team, the Lions, won 5 of 8 home games.

The Pistons record was a nice .720

And the Tigers eked out a winning season.

This whole study was NOT based on just winning percentage alone.  Anybody can do that.  If you have read the whole article, you will have seen that Forbes have come up with painstaking method.  My head still hurts from reading it.

Did you even read my whole comment or just the last line? Because if you had read it all you would know that i only mentioned winning percentage once. The rest of it was based on the BS ways that they DID use to decide these things.
And lets see, lions ended 7-9 last season, third in their div.
The tigers have one of the highest payrolls in the MLB and are only 62-65. At least the pirates suck for cheap lol. And i’ll give ya that the Pistons are good.
