via the Hamilton Spectator,
Jim Balsillie gave reporters the brush-off yesterday in the Pro-Am at the Canadian Open at Angus Glen Golf Club but he did give a fan a brief update on his quest to bring a National Hockey League team to Hamilton.
The billionaire co-owner of Research in Motion, who was playing with defending Canadian Open champion Jim Furyk, hit his drive in the rough just off the 18th fairway. When he got there a fan yelled out “you’ve got to get a team for Hamilton!”
Balsillie replied “I’m trying.”

I know his persistence is annoying, but if he gets the few things he wants, this guy is an ideal owner. First off, he is a billionaire and could not care less about losing money. Second, he actully likes the sport he wants to invest in - making it more than just a business decision for him.
If I had the coin, Id be after Bettman too. Now an interesting development is this Edmonton cat…

Balsillie could be the NHL’s version of Mark Cuban. Bettman, get off your soapbox.

What this loser apparently doesn’t realize is that all he is doing is digging himself deeper and deeper. If he wants an NHL team one day, THIS IS NOT HOW YOU GO ABOUT IT.
Trust me, I know full well how an abrasive personality can rub people the wrong way. If you’re looking to be accepted into a fraternity of people who have a very conservative, low-key, status quo mentality, acting the way this d-bag is acting is not winning him any fans.

Why won’t this loser just go away? Hasn’t the NHL made it clear enough that he’s not welcome?
