Battle Of Western Canada

from Empty Netters,

In the Canucks’ 4-2 defeat of the Oilers last night, things went crazy. Apparently the teams got into an argument over who’s Reebok Edge Super-Duper Uniform System jersey was uglier. (And frankly, there is no winner in that argument.)

There were 14 fighting penalties, eight misconducts and 183 total minutes in penalties.

That was one hell of a game. It wasn’t the goal-scoring that made it a good game either. It was the fast pace, the number of chances each team had, the level of intensity and passion, and of course the fighting.

Definelty one of the most heated battles between these 2 teams in a long time.

Although Staios’s slah on Burrows after his empty net goal was uncalled for, as was Burrow’s slash afterwards, what bothers me is Stoll hitting Burrows well afterhe had already scored, possibly 5 seconds after, and that can not be tolerated in the NHL, hitting a player well after the goal was scored.

I dont blame Burrows one bit for slashing Stoll, you should feel safe from being hit after you score, more so when its seconds after….

Stoll should be reprimanded as well as Burrows.
