from Kathryn Tappen of the Play Ground at NESN,
I liked what I saw from the Bruins on Monday night, however, I’m concerned that they looked tired. After getting out to a 2-0 lead over Toronto, I was just waiting for the Leafs to come storming back against an injury depleted Bruins blueline. We saw it against the Rangers on Saturday night, and I feared a repeat performance north of the border.
The Bruins are in the midst of playing 10 games in 18 days, four games in six days this week alone. They are physically drained, but even more so, they are mentally fatigued. Now is the time when the Bruins must work together as a team, and stay strong through 60 minutes of hockey (perhaps more as we saw in New York over the weekend).

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

For all this talk about how Bruins fans and the org want them to be “blue collar” and “hard-working”, the Bruins simply CANNOT play 82 games of that brand of hockey and hope to succeed. They’re not a deep enough team to endure it. They can’t endure injuries, they simply can’t.
So yes, they probably ARE tired. And I’ve been wondering for the past week or so if the Bruins fans are going to be the undoing of this year’s team. They want a war on ice every night, and I don’t think the roster can deliver that and win enough as the season goes on…
The game has changed. Get over it Bruin fans. How about you just be content with a possible winning team that can compete in the playoffs again?
