Best of Hockey Blogs

USA Hockey Magazine recently came out on news stands with their August edition, which includes a feature on the hockey blogging world. The article should be available online soon.

Meanwhile, we were too excited to wait since they named Kuklas Korner.com to the top of the list—#1—for best hockey blog. (How cool is that?!) Our sincere thanks to USA Hockey Magazine for such a flattering mention for us, plus an excellent list that includes other familiar hockey faces, both mainstream media as well as some independent fan bloggers. Represented are James Mirtle, Ted Leonsis, TSN’s Bob McKenzie, Tom Benjamin, A View From the Cheap Seats, and many others.

Thanks to our friend Patrick Hoffman at The Hockey News for sending us a scan so you can check out the complete list.

Update August 5th: Story now available online.

Honestly? HockeyBuzz is on the list? And above Mirtle?!?

Congratulations! I’m glad they made the absolute correct choice for #1, but #3 on the list kind of hurts the list’s legitimacy.

Congratulations to Paul!
We know you work your butt off at this.

Also Kudos to Alanah, Bill, and Steve.

And thanks to all 19 A2Y readers, who provide some cogent commentary!

Congrats!

And James should be offended that he ranks lower than HockeyBuzz.  His site is fantastic.

A hard earned win. Well done.

Thanks everyone!

While I realize a lot of hockey bloggers and readers will question the choices (#3 made me shake my head, too) I don’t think rankings like this mean much anyway. It’s pretty subjective and just a cool thing to show off. So it should be equally-flattering for blogs all the way down the list.

Plus it’s also worth mentioning there are a lot of great blogs not included on that list at all, right? But they’re still great blogs! smile

1277 members, huh?  Since my name is not underlined do I make 1278?  smile

Agreed Mirtle should be higher (love his stats!).

A sincere congrats to all you guys and gal!

Woo, congrats!

And, also, well, duh, I occasionally post stuff here, and I’m in awe of the work that the people involved in this website do.  Quality people + work ethics from heck = the best blog site, period.

Mirtle lower than Hockeybuzz?  I feel ill!  This is an injustice.

Very cool, indeed. It’s why KK is the first site I check every day...hockey season or not. If George’s Snapshots wasn’t almost exclusively a Wings blog, it would have to rate in the top 10 as well. And how they missed Lyle’s blog at spectorshockey.net is beyond me.

I’m still laughing at the last part of the Hockeybutts.com description...the site “to keep up to date with hockey rumors.” At least they didn’t say they were reliable rumors. That might have put me right out of commission.

Absolutely the best hockey blog on the ‘Net.  As everyone else, I’m shocked hokeybuzz is #3.

Well done, Paul, Alanah, Bill, and Steve!

Congrats to Paul and the staff - but this list is garbage since that loser Eklund is listed third.

If making up crap and pulling nonsense out of a hat makes you a great blogger, well then I’ve been doing things wrong all along.

Nicely done guys and gal. I agree with OlderThanChelios too, Spector should definitely be on that list.
