from the Chicago Tribune,
Tallon could pull the trigger on a deal for a defenseman as soon as Friday, and it likely would be more significant than Thursday’s deal in which he sent seldom-used defenseman Magnus Johansson to the Florida Panthers for a seventh-round draft selection in 2009.
“We’re excited about where we’re going, and we’re going to try to get better every day,” Tallon said. “That’s the bottom line. We’re not going to sit.”
In his quest to ride the momentum this season has generated, Tallon likely will continue to seek deals and could venture into big-name territory closer to the NHL’s Feb. 26 trade deadline.
“We’re looking at our options,” Tallon said. “Whether it’s a big deal or not, it has to make sense for us. We’re building something for the future here.”
