Blackhawks Could Pay Forsberg

from Tim Sassone of the Daily Herald,
While it’s believed Forsberg would prefer to sign with a team that has a chance to win the Stanley Cup right now --if he decides to even play again—the Hawks are in the picture because of their financial flexibility beyond this season.
Forsberg has told the Hawks he hopes to play for a few more years if he can skate on his gimpy feet and ankles, and it’s likely the deal Tallon has presented Forsberg is for at least two years past this one, perhaps in the neighborhood of $5 million a year.

Hopefully this will eliminate the Forsberg to Detroit stories, they were getting quite old.

this story is so laughable. he has already made up his mind. he’s coming back to flyers. end of story.
I couldnt agree more, but still believe Colorado is in the mix.

WHO WOULD PAY HIM 5 MILLION!
He can’t stay healthy for a full season - what a waste of cap space and a roster spot. This is stupid.
Does Chicago need another “star player” who gets hurt all the time?? Ruuto, Havlat, and Forsberg - the best line in hockey that can’t get 82 games played collectively.

Peter’s been away from the game a while. Maybe someone should let him know the Hawks are in 14th (out of 15) place in the West. The only team thats worse are the kings.
If Forsberg comes back, it’ll be to a contender so the Hawks rumours don’t make any sense.

WHO WOULD PAY HIM 5 MILLION!
Especially for another two years past this one. He’s not even playing this year yet - what’s with all the talk about a deal when he hasn’t proven he’s capable of playing at all?
Normally I hate the trade deadline, because I don’t want players I like to get shipped off to another team - but just to bring an end to the Forsberg saga will be worth it.
