Blackhawks Reach Out To Their Fans

from Carol Slezak of the Chicago Sun-Times,
When Rocky Wirtz officially welcomes fans to the Blackhawks Convention this evening, his greeting might be drowned out by chants of ‘’Rock-y, Rock-y.’’ When he mingles with fans, he likely will be asked to pose for pictures and sign autographs.
Truth be told, Wirtz will feel a little uncomfortable if these things happen because being front and center really isn’t his style. But he’s not about to complain. The way the Hawks’ chairman sees it, the convention is another opportunity for the organization to reach out to fans, and a happy fan base is good for business.

I don’t know how to say this with out being cold BUT the best thing to happen for the Hawks was the passing of Bill Wirtz. Rocky has done a great job with the Organization which all started with getting them back on TV. I am very happy for the Hawks and their fans, and can’t wait to see what this season brings.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

The Hawks organization has it exactly right. Success on the ice starts at the ownership level, then requires great management and scouting.
It may take a few years, but the Hawks are building an organization & team to rival the Red Wings.
I would like to see the Wings have a “Red Wings Convention”.
