Blackhawks Using Organization Depth

The Hawks have called up eight players from Rockford, including Dave Bolland and Petri Kontiola twice each. In 37 games, they have used a league-high 33 players; they used 41 all last season.
‘‘It’s frustrating because it’d be nice to see what we really have,’’ Tallon said. ‘‘But our guys are playing with character, and the younger guys are doing the job.
‘‘Our farm system is working. We’re very fortunate that we have depth now, and the younger guys are a year closer than they were last year at this time. That’s probably why we’re hanging in there.’‘
