Bottom Line For The Wings

from Scott Morrison of CBC,
Bottom line is that even if the Wings are able to battle through the injuries and the transition, this may just be the season that Holland has to make a move in goal. Now, they will want to give Howard time to establish his worth and Osgood, a veteran, time to find his game.
It will be interesting to see, though, if Howard has NHL game and whether time, as it inevitably will one day, has run out on Osgood.
This much we do know, the Wings will be patient, they are still deep enough to weather the storm and stay in the playoff hunt, but if they are going to get things turned around they will need vastly improved goaltending to do it. Whether that goaltending can come from Osgood and Howard, well, no one could answer that with any certainty today.

it’s definitely not a wise thing anymore, it was hardly a wise thing at the best of times.

The problem with the goalies in Detroit is consistency, they are neither consistently terrible or amazing. Game to game you never know what your gonna get. Jimmie showed some heart against the Oilers, he was all over the place but pulled off some awesome saves. I think he has the potential to be the no1. Ozzie is the definition of a big game player, he is there when needed and was our best player in the playoffs. If we make the playoffs this year
he will prove it yet again! Ozzie is clutch!

It’s interesting that you say this, because I said the exact same thing a few days ago on another forum. Wings fans are still rallying behind their goalie Osgood and I don’t think that’s such a wise thing anymore.
