via Craig Custance tweet,
After checking Brad Stuart, doctors determine no surgery necessary. He’s out six to eight weeks.

Good lord, the doctors checked him too. Can’t the guy get a break?

Now watch Campbell use this as an excuse for suspending Kraptopolis for fewer games than he should be getting.

Yep. Probably a $2,500 fine and a shame-on-you.

If the NHL front office reads KK, they will realize how angry fans are at Campbell’s seemingly random suspension policy. Wings fans may have a large collective voice here at KK, but Down Goes Brown and other blogs testify to how displeased all fans are with the NHL, especially regarding these hits.
If they realize how angry fans are, they should should also realize that gives them much less public support when the next arbitration deal comes up.
Time to step up.

We’ll see what the suspension is here, but it better be significant. Speaking as a Sharks fan, not a Wings fan (though I still have a soft spot for Stuart).
This just seemed like such a malicious hit. If Thornton got two games for his hit on Perron earlier this year (with no track record), and Eager got four for the sucker-punch on Armstrong last night, Kostopolous should seriously be closer to ten.
Of course we’re dealing with a roulette wheel of justice here, so my guess is around five.

*sigh*
Calgary should have to go without one of their Top 2 d-men for 6-8 weeks in retribution. Make them play without Regehr or J-Bo for that term.
Unfortunately, Kostopolous is a garbage player and no amount of discipline on him would still be an equal trade.

How about instead of suspending Kostopolous, really punish the Flames.
Force Kostopolous, until Stuart is back, to play with a new D-partner ... borrow Brett Lebda from the Maple Leafs. I think they won’t mind.

Made me lol, though I should have expected it.

Considering how bad the team has played this year, that might actually be a step up. The only guy on the blueline who has been earning his keep this season is Giordano.

I guess this is the best outcome either Stu or the Wings could hope for given the type of hit that he took. Now watch Campbell use this as an excuse for suspending Kraptopolis for fewer games than he should be getting.
