RDS is reporting (in French) that Donald Brashear has been signed by the New York Rangers. Here’s the translation via Google:
This is the waltz of the strongmen in July first in the NHL. After losing the services of Colton Orr for the Toronto Maple Leafs, the New York Rangers have contracted Donald Brashear.
The agreement is two years worth a total of 2.8 million.
Update 3:00pm ET: More from Steve Zipay at Blues Notes, also confirming the RDS reports.

I want to like this signing, but after what he did to Betts I am not so sure of that. although the thought of Brashear and Avery on the ice at the same time does induce more fear than Colton Orr for some odd reason
