Coincidentally enough, my exact words last week (when talking about reports that Morrison was probably leaving the Canucks) were these:
This whole situation gives one the sense that players are jumping off the Titanic and swimming for the lifeboats.
Depressing as a Canucks fan, but I’m happy for Mo.

sure it’s a fiscally conservative deal for around $4.5 mil per given Burke’s sentiments on rising payrolls; oh wait, he’s a hypocrite, what with Kunitz earning $3.75 mil next season, Schneider over $5.63 mil, and Todd Marchant $2.75 mil...in fact, Michael Roszival can now earn $5 mil next season based on the schneider precedent, considering he registered only 39 points last season

Morrison can put up big points when paired with the right people
Not sure about big points, but the former ironman can play good defensively and be an asset to the Ducks.

FYI, OC Register’s blog is reporting a one-year deal, but no mention of dollars.
So long as the salary’s reasonable, though, good signing. A natural fit behind Getzlaf.

Remember this guy hasn’t been healthy in a while.
If he’s healthy, it’s an upgrade over Weight for sure. If Selanne comes back, could be a really good pair, but I still think it’s a shame that Burke mismanaged his team into having to throw away McDonald. He had great chemistry with Selanne, they made a good duo.

Without trying to be nasty, this reminds me of jumping off the Titanic.
Morrison can put up big points when paired with the right people. He’s not a Hobie Baker and NCAA Champion for nothing. Was on one of the most lethal lines in the NHL a few years ago.
