from Pete Maher at the Calgary Sun,
The best broadcast location I ever worked in was in the old Olympia in Detroit, but for only two seasons before it was replaced by the Joe Louis Arena.
The Saddledome now has the best broadcasting seat.
Our location is suspended from the roof just over the final row of seats in the lower bowl on the penalty-box side.
Broadcasters are also additionally stimulated by crowd response—when the Sea of Red is in prime form, nothing rivals the Saddledome.
The new location in San Jose is just below the roof.
