Buffalo Cab Driver With A Not So Clean Past

from Aaron Besecker of the Buffalo News,

The city cab driver who has accused National Hockey League star Patrick Kane and his cousin of robbing and attacking him Sunday morning has two drunken driving convictions and had no valid driver’s license at the time of the incident, The Buffalo News has learned.

Jan Radecki, 62, of Lombard Street, has had a cab license in the City of Buffalo since May 1996 and became licensed with the city for a Chrysler minivan in 2003. Radecki’s driver’s license, however, was revoked in December 1998 after he refused to submit to a chemical test, according to state Department of Motor Vehicle records. He was issued a conditional license by the agency after the incident.

The NHL’s gloves are off i guess on this one. Can’t have another young superstar f’g up and be the bad the guy, so they make the other guy into a horrible human being. Way to go!

So…...Kane’s punches didn’t matter because this guy had a past?  Glad to see the lawyers hard at work already.  shut eye

Asked to elaborate, Cambria said he was not implying James Kane committed a crime, but said was speaking only on behalf of his client.

Nice. So the plan seems to be to lay all of the blame on the cousin. And then the cousin can claim he was just trying to make a citizen’s arrest on a cabbie who was driving without a valid license. smile

What really cracks me up about this whole thing is this. If Kane and his cousin has let the cabbie keep the whole $15, they’d still be the biggest cheapskates around. A $1.20 tip on a $13.80 fare is less than 9%. Let’s hope the cabbies in Chicago take note and leave this “big spender” standing on the curb whenever they see him.

It’s sad that now the lawyers are involved and the Cabbies lawyer is now basically calling his own client a liar and that he exaggerated everything.  Obviously they’re all working on a settlement, but is anyone, or will anyone be surprised when the comments ” you dont know who you’re messing with”  or ” do you know who I am” will be only linked to the Cousin Kane, not Patrick.  Not to mention underage drinking…which i think is what Jordan Staal got charged with last summer didnt he?

who cares about the past of the cabbie though, i hope justice is served…

I guess no driver’s license means you deserved to have your ass kicked.

Not only that, but did you see how he was dressed?  He was clearly asking for it!

Looks like the cousin (James Kane) will be the fall guy here.I guess he’ll take one for his little cousin and the Black Hawks. i hope they compensate him generously.
