Can The Wings Win A Game In ‘The Tank’?

from Jon Swenson of Sharkspage,

HP Pavilion was named “The toughest road arena to play in” by a recent Sports Illustrated poll of 272 NHL players. In 5 regular seasons since the lockout in 2004-05, opponents traveling to ‘The Tank” have averaged only 17 wins a season (41.4%), and only 10 in regulation (25.8%).

It is one of the best player entrances in all of sports, and it maximizes the intimidation factor even furthur when they black out the arena and train the spotlights only on the Sharks head.

A twelve foot high styrofoam shark head is intimidating? Okaaaaay….

It was freaking loud as hell in there, like painfully so.

Then again sharks fans are just painful to look at, much less listen to…

I’m biased, but the Sharks do have a cool pregame intro with the shark head.  Let me tell you, it gets LOUD, especially during the playoffs.  Even for the hardcore Wings fans, I recommend going to at least one game at the tank if you have a chance.  I know that I plan on going to going to a game at the Joe one of these days, traveling isn’t cheap though.
