Canadian University Goalie Suffers Skate To Neck Injury

A university goaltender is in fair condition in a Windsor, Ont., hospital after having his throat accidentally slashed during a game.
Kury Jory, of Brandon, Man., was hurt Saturday while in net for the Brock University Badgers from St. Catharines, Ont., against the Windsor Lancers.
The 21-year-old netminder suffered a severed vein in his neck when he was clipped by a skate during a goalmouth scramble in the third period.
The Badgers say Jory is in full recovery after undergoing surgery and will return to St. Catharines in a few days.
The Canadian Hockey League requires players to wear neck guards, but Canadian Interuniversity Sport does not have a similar requirement.
