NEW YORK (November 7, 2008) – Hockey fans in Canada beginning next week will be able to enter an online promotion for an opportunity to purchase tickets to NHL Winter ClassicTM 2009, the National Hockey League (NHL) announced today. Details will be released next week.
The online promotion for Canadian residents will determine who will have an opportunity to purchase some of the limited number of public tickets to the January 1 game between the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings at Wrigley Field.
There was an issue brought up today which did not allow Canadian hockey fans to purchase tickets. The NHL realized it and reacted quickly.

Jeezus, the NHL is getting dumber and dumber every week almost with the Winter Classic promotion and marketing.
First, the fruitcakes make it difficult for Wings fans to get tickets and now, they damn near shut out the Canadians of their national game? Even with this drawing for Canadians and foreigners, the damage is already done.
Awful…

Canadians should get the same quota Americans will get for the Vancouver Olympics. Or perhaps Ballsillie can buy the Red Wings and move them to Hamilton and get a quota that way.
