Caps Sign Keith Aucoin

via the Washington Capitals,

The Washington Capitals have signed free agent center Keith Aucoin to a two-year contract, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Update 2:18am July 4th (alanah): Aucoin’s salary for 08/09 is reported as $475,000.

As far as heart goes, you’d be hard pressed to find an athlete out there with a bigger one than Aucoin.  He will be missed in Raleigh/Albany, but good for Keith.

He’s Hershey-bound.

The announcement was made in conjunction with the Bears.
